Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP made the decision to move from their current offices of 24 years to new larger premises. A law firm of over 60 lawyers with support staff recognized that this would require major logistics and coordination if they were going to provide a smooth transition and minimal disruption for their clients. A major challenge was the less than 18 months to design, permit, order, construct, install and move while they continued to run their own law practices. To get this done, the FMC Premises Committee turned to Nancy Holme to act as their owner’s representative and project manager. The project was completed on-time and on-budget.

Southcove Neighbourhood

Echo West was responsible for the development and implementation of strategic, conceptual and financial plans for a 15-acre parcel of land in Steveston, Richmond on behalf of the land owners. Echo West managed the process that resulted in rezoning by the City of Richmond then created a new neighbourhood park, roads and a residential neighbourhood comprised of five saleable multi-family developments. These 5 parcels contained more than 730,000 buildable square feet of residential units which were sold to local developer /builders for a substantial profit for the land owners.

Dover Crossing Neighbourhood

Echo West was responsible for all aspects of developing 36 acres known as the Dover Crossing Neighbourhood in Richmond. Echo West took the lead to rezone these 36 acres on behalf of their client and the other adjacent land owners. Four waterfront multi-family hi-rise parcels were created out of the land owned by the client. Echo West provided supervision of the neighbourhood infrastructure and managed the sale of all four parcels. These 4 parcels allowed for 660,000 buildable square feet of residential units and were sold to local developer/builders for a substantial profit.
